KKCL’s summer school students cheered on the Olympic torch last week as it passed by Greenford Road in Harrow. It was an amazing sight to see so many people lining the roads by the college and excitement had been building in the classroom about the relay, which helpfully coincided with our mid-lesson break!

As part of the week’s English project of creating and describing their own island, students had been talking about different nationalities and had made their own flags, which came in handy when cheering on the relay. The students caught the torch a second time last Thursday near Hyde Park during an afternoon excursion around central London.
