1 – Who are our Medical English courses designed for?
Our Medical English courses are designed for students of English who are either currently in the Medical profession or training to work in a Medical field who would like to extend their Medical education by studying English for Medical Purposes. These could be doctors, nurses, Medical students or healthcare professionals from non-English speaking countries who would like to work either in the UK or another English speaking Medical environment.
2 – What is the background of our Medical English teachers?
Our Medical English teachers have strong scientific backgrounds as well as being fully trained, highly qualified English language teachers. As such they are in an excellent position to help students with medical vocabulary, presenting research, writing medical reports, discussing medical situations including third-world medical issues and suchlike. We make extensive use of role play to simulate clinical Medicine situations as well as patient-doctor or patient-nurse conversations and our teachers will correct and improve your English, showing the best way to express yourself in each situation.
3 – What is the English level required to attend a Medical English course?
Students should have a high Intermediate level (CEFR B1/B2) to enrol for a Medical English course. In other words students should have good knowledge of General English with good grammar and communicative skills to be able to follow and participate in the course.

4 – How are the Medical English courses structured? (group classes, individual classes, we send a Teacher in your structure)
Our Medical English courses are modular and topic-based. We offer group and one-to-one lessons and will do a full needs analysis to learn what your interests and objectives are before you start the course. There is regular homework set and all our courses have a project at the end of each week to consolidate your learning and assess how well you are meeting your goals.

- English For Specific Purposes 15 Hours/Week (Afternoon Classes) £600 per week
- English For Specific Purposes with General English 30 Hours / Week (Morning GE/IELTS, Afternoon ESP Classes) £699 per week
- One-to-One Tuition for Business English, fees are £52 per hour
- One-to-Two Tuition for English for Specific Purposes (ESP), fees are £42 per hour

6 – Why is it important to take this course?
Whether you have direct patient contact in English, are presenting research at an international conference in English, reading articles or hoping to study or work in an English speaking Medical environment, it is vital to feel confident and be able to comprehend and communicate effectively. Our Medical English course focuses on the skills that any Medical professional will need in English: speaking, listening, writing and reading at the same time as building accurate grammar and medical vocabulary to be able to communicate with confidence.
7 – What will they achieve with this course?
On completion of our Medical English course, students will be more confident using English in their Medical fields. They will know what type of language to use in a variety of Medical situations and will have practised and refined this with their teacher. They will see how they have progressed visually through their Weekly Reports and comments written by the teacher as well as feedback and weekly assessment through the end-of-week projects. Being based in West London, UK, students also learn about the British healthcare system and may visit local clinics/hospitals to see what these are like compared to in their own countries.
